I will not bore you with a lot of details of how I came to focus on second language acquisition but I was a very curious student of languages early on in my life. Latin was the first because there was not another option during my youth. But I feel blessed I did study the base of the romance languages. It helped me greatly to have a metalinguistic ability to acquire multiple languages in my life. Plus my passion as a soccer player exposed me to a world of languages and methods of communicating. I feel compelled to teach English to adults (or young adults) because I believe they have some metalinguistic abilities that need to be recognized in a unique way for the instructor. Children acquire language quite naturally but adult learners need a special environment to achieve their L2 language goals. I feel very qualified to lead them on that journey.
